The story behind the proposal

When Invitation Only reached out to us about this styled proposal at Middleton Place, we could not say yes fast enough! Hannah and Robby live out of state and were visiting the Holy City as a short weekend getaway. Hannah thought they were just going to be touring the gardens at Middleton Place- and boy did he surprise her!

The Set Up

Loraine, the owner of Invitation Only, chose the antique ruby set to be the star and accented with touches of navy and pink. Hannah and Robby love to travel so she used a globe and a ton of photos from their travels. The lanterns on the path and in the Oak Tree were the cherry on top!

The Story

If you guys could have seen us hiding in the bushes you would have died! There was 4 of us trying so hard to stay hidden and quiet- while stepping on dead leaves and dodging crazy wild life (squirrels.. I’m talking squirrels). At the last minute someone (Cory) decided to run across the open path clear to the other side. Which doesn’t sound like a big deal, but none of knew exactly when they were going to walk up. If you haven’t been to Middleton before this spot is below a hill. So you have to walk down the stairs to get to the Oak tree. If they had walked up there is no way she wouldn’t have realized what was happening. And I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only who lost a year off their life when he did it!

Luckily, he did make it! When they arrived Cory was safely on the ground, laying on his stomach, to make sure he had to perfect vantage point- while not being seen. We pulled it off

I think we were all nervous about Hannah noticing us before she saw the set up. I honestly don’t even think she knew it was for her until she saw the photos. After he got down on one knee, and they had the chance to enjoy the moment, he finally pointed us all out.
