We like to send out clients a little questionnaire to get to know them better. It helps us to understand who you are as people- and gets us the info we need to write our blog! (I, Hillary, need all the help I can get!) Here is a little sneak peek of what we learned about Sally + Nate before their Southern (with a touch of Boho) wedding at Wingate Plantation!
Nate and I met through work, at a conference, in a bar! Haha. We were both attending a conference for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK in Lansing, MI. At the time, Nate lived in Minnesota and I lived in Tennessee. Being nice, he came up and asked where I was from. I was completely thrown by his northern accent, and my response was “where the hell are you from?!” We became friends throughout the night, me also calling him Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter. (It is a wonder he wants to marry me!) Anyways, a year went by, and about a month before the same conference the next year, Nate reached out to a few of us to see if we were going to be attending the conference again. I responded to say that I was, and from that day we have talked everyday since, and nine months later he moved to Tennessee!
We got engaged in Rockland, ME at the Rockland light house in 2017. My family goes to Maine every year in the fall, and that year was the first year that Nate was also able to come along. One morning, the two of us walked out to the lighthouse, one of my favorite walks. It is a mile off the shore and huge granite boulders. We got out to the light house and wanted to go up to get a better view for a picture for his mom. When we had this beautiful view of the water, mountains, and our amazing resort, he got down on one knee and proposed!!! Just the two of us. It was perfect!
On the weekends, we love spending time with our Weimaraner, Arni and drinking craft beer. We are those people that seek out rare beers to try and share with others. Nate also loves to play golf on the weekends. I try, but I am not very good. We both love Hockey ( House divided! Go Preds! He cheers for the Wild.), and we attend almost all of the Tennessee Vols football games in the fall. We love to travel when we can, hence the destination wedding.
The trees. I am in love with the whimsical look of live oak trees and moss.
